Two years ago, I was invited by to visit a Za’atari refugee camp in Jordan. Here, I got to meet the most inspiring children while seeing some of the incredible work by UNICEF. These children had to escape their own country and are left living off the bare minimum in these refugee camps and yet they continue to laugh and smile when we got the chance to throw a rugby ball around. It was a visit that truly changed my life and I am honoured to announce that I will be continuing my support and signing on as an official Ambassador for . At home, I have four sons and a wife who mean the absolute world to me, and I’m very aware of how lucky and privileged we are. There are families who don’t have access to basic needs like food, clean water, education and support for mental health. I’m grateful I can use my platform to highlight the life-changing work UNICEF is doing in order to deliver long-term sustainable solutions. After becoming a father myself, it’s become so fulfilling to see kids smile, laugh and enjoy life. All children deserve the best start in life and together we can make a huge impact for generations to come, in Aotearoa and around the world. Thank you for continuing our journey.
